(for Thursday, August 16, 2010) Even though it was still in repeats, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ moved to its new night and showed that its definitely ready to compete with the big Thursday night competition. ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘Nikita’ were off slightly, while the new iteration of ‘The Apprentice’ laid a big turd on NBC’s schedule with a very disappointing two-hour premiere.

‘The League’ season premiere debuted a new rap song that deserves to be a number one hit! The musical stylings of Taco with special guest Chad Ochocinco on “I’m Inside Me.” I can forgive the criminal lack of Taco this episode for that brilliant performance that wrapped the episode. But first, we’ve a draft to get through.

It’s always fun to have ‘It’s Always Sunny’ back on the air. Easily the most bawdy and hilarious half-hour on television. But I don’t remember it being formatted usually quite like this episode. That said, I could easily watch a movie of their shenanigans so I don’t mind ongoing plotlines at all. This week, both of the major storylines ended unresolved.

Shane is right about one thing. Nikita’s former handler dropped a big reason to Nikita why it’s going to be nearly impossible to take Division down. That doesn’t mean she’s going to stop trying, though. But it does raise the stakes and the odds against her. Division has a lot of power right now, and the powerful don’t easily give up their ‘Leverage,’ so to speak. We also got a bit as to how Alex and Nikita came be working in collusion on this case, adding even more layers to the mystery. ‘Nikita’ is off to a great start.

Things are about to get a lot more interesting on ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ and Katherine’s “message” looks to be just the start of the troubles. Damon gets an offer to lead the council regarding the vampires from Carol Lockwood, and while in her home, he gets a hint about the Lockwood family secret. A secret that surprisingly is even more secret than I would have suspected.
