I know there hasn’t been much happening on this site in a long while and for that I’m sorry. It’s been a struggle figuring out how to better balance my new responsibilities in the day job with the extracurricular activities I want to do, like this site and some other exciting things to come in 2012.
But people who know me know that I love me a good list, and I love me some television, so why not take what I do anyway for myself and share it all with you. Many of you may remember these monthly columns from TV Squad and subsequently AOL TV. Well, they’ve proven pretty popular and I’ve seen them copied countless places on the ‘net, so why not on my own site. I did put in the man-hours to create it after all :).
As expected, there are plenty of holiday specials this holiday season, including a very ambitious animated installment of ‘Eureka.’ That one’s paired with seasonal outings for other Syfy faves ‘Warehouse 13′ and ‘Haven.’ The network is also taking another look at the Peter Pan story with their two-part ‘Neverland’ mini-series, while ‘Snowmageddon’ continues their trend of movies so bad they’re good. Speaking of minis, Stephen King is back with ‘Bag of Bones’ over on A&E, while Encore brings the four-part ‘The Take,’ and Sundance ports the UK’s very dark ‘Appropriate Adult.’
Most of the fall cable runs are wrapping this month, like ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ ‘Covert Affairs,’ ‘Boss,’ ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ ‘Enlightened,’ ‘Burn Notice,’ ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ and ‘American Horror Story.’ Also wrapping are the fall runs of reality staples like ‘Survivor,’ ‘The Amazing Race,’ ‘The X Factor’ and ‘The Biggest Loser.’
But there’s new fare too, like HBO’s ‘The Life & Times of Tim’ and new series ‘Luck.’ Meanwhile, NBC is bringing back ‘Fear Factor’ and there are plenty of those fun cable reality series like ‘Extreme Couponing’ and ‘The First 48′ to tide you over until the big January premieres. Plus, don’t you have a holiday or two to deal with this month as well? It’s not all TV, you know!
